I make pottery that is functional and sculptural. Using layers of texture and color I focus on creating depth and detail in the forms and surfaces of my pots. I think of each pot/piece as a composition telling a story through the nuance of each curve, line, volume, color, shape, and texture. My work is playful and emotive. As people experience my work I want all of the layers and detail to communicate the time I spend on creating and finishing each piece. This time reflects care, care that I hope is apparent to someone using or viewing my work and reminds them that they, like each of us, are worthy of intention and beautiful things in our lives.
